everyday i'm counting down the option period (14 days)...another 8 days to go, it seems so long to me :P while waiting for the period to end, i asked ian to start praying for our new home...there's a period of time he said he doesn't want to sell our home. but the moment when i said our new home is going to face the train depot, he changed his mind. now each time when he prays, his first request is must face the depot, can see the train track.

before i become a parent, i always wonder how parents identify real cry and fake one...coz most of the kids cry seem so real to me!!! they simply said "you'll know, normally they cry with no tears". now i'm a mother, i know....how is it like now...let me give you one of nathan's 'geh geh' cry. this is just one of the 'activities' he'll do before his nap time.

then he's into this 'feed himself' phase, add food into his spoon, he poured back and insisted to scoop himself. the first few days were madness to me, coz the food was all over the floor! dry food never mind, but they're rice (sticky) and dishes (contains oil), i simply couldn't wait till he finishes his food then clean up, i clean whenever he drops his food. then cannot tahan liao, went home and take my weapon, it's a normal bib with quite a wide 'pocket' to pick up his spills as well as a table mat, also come with a 'pocket' as double protection, they called the 'pocket' as scoop. ordered it from singapore motherhood, which i used to visit pretty frequently last year...it's a kiddopotamus product. so it doesn't matter he spills his food on his bib or mat, all i need is to fold the mess and bring to the sink to wash, rather than cleaning the high chair, his legs, change his shirts, and the floor. i still have to clean the floor once a while, but not as bad now.

how about baby? can feel his movement at all times and still....we have yet to decide his english name. in fact, jem and i are just waiting for each other to agree on our prefered name, haha :P. chinese name decided liao! thanks to joyce who suggested the name :)

oh! another stuff to share...
let me quote this from a book...titled "bringing up boys" from dr. james dobson. my sis, diana recommended me this book when i found out i have a boy in my 1st pregnancy.

"alas, boys have the same ability to ignore their moms. they honestly don't hear the words that are being poured into their ears. that is why i recommend that you as a mom reach out physically and touch your boys if you want to get their attention. when they turn to look at you, give them your message in short bursts."

because of this paragraph, i started to observe my boy....and how true is that!!! i don't know about girls...maybe they are more sensitive and 听話. not for the boys...!!! and i guess it's not just applicable to moms, but any member of the family.
if you say "ian, NOOOOOOOO!!! come down!!! don't do it....etc"
you expect to talk to a 'hee lang' (deaf person), he simply COULDN'T HEAR!!! so what to do? stop him physically!!! i have 2+1 boys, so i gotta deal with 3 'hee lang's...

i tried to convey this msg to my family....boys just don't listen, need to stop them physically! many times it makes me so frustrated coz they simply don't get it. but only recently i found out....hey...my in laws are not young anymore. i can't expect ah gong ah po to carry the boys down from danger place all the time, too taxing for them. same as my in laws...

hard to be considerate sometimes....i mean...though i know they're physically not able to, i do wish they can think of other ways to deal with the boys rather than using the same warning (no no no, don't do it, don't climb, don't push, don't hit, don't ...etc) and we all know....for months!!! it doesn't work on them...most of the time.

recently, the liang household are into playing mahjong together...it's a good activity for the old folks...esp for ah gong, he likes to play and it helps to stimulate his brain and you can tell he's excited :D. so jem, my parent in laws and ah gong, 4 of them been playing mahjong in weekend. my boys have their own set of mahjong to build blocks, or pretend cooking or when they're bored, they kick their mahjong all over the place....for me and ah po, we've been the mahjong collector, or maybe a security guard, preventing the boys from joining the adults and mess up their cards.

i also want to learn mahjong next time...why? that is one of the best way of not having to take care of children even when you're at home! just sit on the chair and when the boys misbehave, all i need to say is "no no, don't climb!!! nooooooooooo! you're very naughty ah, next time i don't buy cake/biscuit for you"...then the boys still misbehave, left with those who're not playing mahjong doing the stopping and disciplining.

sounds very mean yeah!!! just want to voice out only, i have my tired moments....having said that, i absolutely not against playing mahjong, it's good for ah gong, a bonding time for the entire family, everybody enjoys it. it's just during the playing period, when the boys are not listening, insist to go to their mahjong table countless times, want to join the fun, we have to come out with all sorts of reasons or activities to distract them from making the mess, then people who play only say "no no no, don't touch, don't do this don't do that" but doing the actual stopping work is not them. sometimes, i got so tired, i simply sit there, knowing the boys are climbing near the mahjong table, i ignored and continue to watch tv, i need to rest a while....:P

anyway, after voicing out, i shall speak out something to justify their side too...
my boys listen to me and jem more than any other members of the family. if i stop them physically, they dare not fight back, or if they do, they suffer the consequences. but other family members cannot do the same as us, so what if they can physically stop them, my boys very often still don't listen and will fight back and can be quite rude to them, e.g talk loudly or 頂嘴 too...and in the end, it's normal that they warn the boys with all the 'no nos', that's the best they can do, the teaching/punishment still leave to the parents to implement.

going to do other things now....read up some renovation blogs :P

nite nite!
