among the 3 boys, jonathan is the first baby who....sort of...sleep through the night, though sometimes he would wake up once or twice at night, other times he sleeps through :D

maybe i should thank my mom in law's constant suggestion to use the 'yao lan' (from baby #1 till now), only till baby #3 then i gave in...coz that thing can make him sleep without nursing to sleep and fair enough he does sleep longer most of the time...
while other family members use yao lan, i use sling to sling him till sleep...have to constantly move around...not a very good habit but whatever works, i'll do. anyway, i don't have the luxury to just stand n rock him to sleep all the time, i still have another 2 kor kors to tackle.

sometimes i wish to know what's in baby's mind, does baby really enjoy being rock....so hard. for me, i try to rock as gently as possible, jonathan still can doze off. not for my in laws though...they rock very hard when i'm not looking. the louder the baby cry, the harder they rock, then sometimes swing back and forward. looking at the sarong, i can't help to think my boy is having sea sick and about to puke or if not, he's probably pengsan.

so how? i don't know...i can't help to intervene when they rock so hard...and now...maybe spoilt by me nowadays...when jonathan still cry when they rock, i carry him out and sling him and continue my routine with the boys...i nurse then keep him awake by burping him, sling him bk till sleep and then transfer slowly to sarong. so...it seems like he can't settle to sleep in sarong first but must nurse first....moving towards nursing to sleep path???...hope not.

what other issue? jonathan is a thumb sucker. i know babies naturally like to suck. think i read somewhere abt pacifier, and i'm quite against using after reading it. ian & nathan survived without it, so i apply the same on jonathan. again, my mom in law suggests pacifier. let me tell you, my mom in law is immune to "no" ok. today i say no, she'll suggest again tomorrow, always....as though she can't remember what i told her yesterdays/yesteryears. i said no from baby #1 till now, she still mention it (she's a very potential evangelist, not scared of rejection and very persistent)...oh well, like me, she can't help to intervene when she sees jonathan keep wanting to suck his thumb and i keep removing his thumb from him :P, she feels that i'm depriving what a baby should have...a pacifier.

and seriously, i do consider to give jonathan pacifier this time round due to his thumb sucking...but because of my ego and don't like to hear the word "deprive" (sound as though i'm torturing my boy and maybe i do), i dropped that idea.

anyway, who knows, maybe i will introduce pacifier when move to new home....where i don't hear comments...haha! 死要臉 yeah :P. it's ok if you think so, i think so too :D funny right, most of us were pacifier babies. i was, so does jem, i can't even recall i use it till i see those old photos. so why make a big fuss about pacifier. just try loh, won't die yeah?

that's all folks! good night.

you know as parents, there's countless worries about our kids.

ian has been the only ONE who reluctant to go to school since his last school term holidays...that's long ok. everyday is a struggle for me to bring him there...coz he always say "i don't want to go to school". it's easy if i just bring him alone, just carry him and go even if he's struggling, but i have to bring nathan along, and sometimes jonathan. so one walk, one in pram and another in sling. then ian always use his feet to block the pram, that frustrates me! i really hate it whenever he does it. in the end, sometimes i carried him (and hold him super hard coz he's struggling) and push the pram, another time let him sit with nathan then force him out of the pram, another time, the teachers will use various ways to lure him in, e.g. interesting art work, new playground....another time? continue to walk even if he's sitting on the floor. maybe that's the reason why i seldom blog, not just tired, not just no time, but feel xian at times.

i asked his teachers, both said he stopped crying shortly after that, and happily playing and participating in school and sometimes he doesn't even want to go home. i'm worried that he may get bullied and don't know how to voice out, teachers said it's more possible that he bullies others than ppl bully him (oh no, like that he may not hv many friends liao). then why? why he always like that!

his teachers thought it might be because of jonathan. 2 younger bros staying at home having 'fun' & got mommy's attention while he gotta go to school...or sometimes having a new addition at home makes the older one insecure.

i hope this phase is over soon. i'm trying to give my best best best attention to the 3 bros as best as i can.

the amount of time i've been raising my voice has been increased dramatically recently. the use of cane also increased too. but yesterday, i decided to try not to raise my voice...(super hard job), coz i noticed he raised his voice to his grand and great grandparents! that makes me super lousy as a mom, coz my boys show no respect to elders. and very often i raise my voice when he shows no respect...force him to apologise, punish him till he does it...etc. is there a better way? and how to make him understand the importance of respecting elders? what happen when he still refuse to apologise? all these questions run through my mind each day....how to teach, how to do...etc. what's more, what works for ian doesn't apply to nathan...he's another tougher nut, harder to teach, not scared of threats, stares and even cane.

uhm...all these headaches aside, start hacking new home next monday! oooh hooo!!! est completion by mid october. hopefully can move in by early november. though i heard all the cons of having white kitchen, i'll likely go ahead...likely...(maybe that's where my sons get their stubborness strong-willed from, haha)

sometimes i wonder where my boy learn all this from...
mom in law brought ian & nathan to her sister's place yesterday. Came bk in the evening and told us this.

nathan did something that causes one of the aunty to tell him "No!!! Nathan No"
Ian defended his bro, "Noooo!!! Don't scold nathan!!!"
Then the aunty said. "Cannot be so rude, how can you scold me"
Ian: "No, I'm not scolding you, i'm scolding the plant!!!"

what's there to update? i don't know...intended to update after reading renotalk forum, but am now feeling very tired.

will just write and try to recall what's been happening for the past 2 weeks...in summary okie.

1. jonathan's sleeping is getting better...but i noticed every 2-3 days a week, he will wake up...feeding, pooing...then smiling at me...and i have to stay up for at least an hour before he starts yawning again.
why? ask him!
2. collected housekey, decided contractor...and now in the midst of finalising quotation and deciding what to have/not to have in our new home...so far quotation already min. $40k.
3. my boys are fascinated with tornadoes..my mom in law bought 'twister' dvd yesterday, we watched 3 times in 2 days.
4. ian is quite popular among the teachers now...coz he's the only one who still cry and refuse to go to school everyday...each day when we're approaching the school gate, can see the teachers saying "he's coming! 他來了", then his class teacher will do the persuasion task again. if the activity of the day is interesting, his cry will change to exciting face instantly...and hopping in...if not, teacher gotta hold his hand, keep talking to him while he's crying and walking him to the assembly hall, another teacher will quickly tell me to leave...before he changes his mind.
5. jonathan likes interaction, it's the 1st time i see a baby who keeps smiling and cooing while we're talking to him, can't recall the 2 korkors like that. God, 3 boys are so different in character, gotta give me wisdom mannnn...
6. looks like my full white kitchen dream is shattered...9/10 ppl against it, the 1/10 is my mom in law, who hardly cook at home. she has this perception that i seldom cook or not cooking as we stay so close...so white is fine. though my cooking is suck, i still want to cook...yap, with 3 boys at home is like a impossible mission, but i'll still try.
7. "connie, finish all the food", "can't finish? give connie"
8. meet up friends for lunch. thank God for sending ppl into my life...to chit chat and help me to take care of nathan at the same time (i bring nathan and jonathan out while ian is in school)
9. sarong (yaolan) has been a great help to me...other family member can make him sleep using it rather than just nursing to sleep. 80% of the time, i ended up sling him to sleep, don't know why, he always cry whenever i put him to sarong, think he prefers to stay close with his smelly mother. the remaining 20%, mostly successful at night, while korkors want me to bao bao, sometimes ended up using my toes to rock that sarong.
10. nathan speaks more words now...but if you hear him saying "i want mommy"...what he means is
- let me go!
- i want to go out of the room
- kor kor bully me
- i don't want to sleep
- kor kor take my toys!
- etc....
he's not exactly wanting his mommy.
11. went to watch 3D ice age...urh...3? in cinema...free tix from jem's company...really enjoyed the whole movie...jonathan slept throughout, ian has jem to take care...i just sit, watch and eat pop corn.
12. nathan's birthday next tuesday...time flies...he's turning 2 yr old.

good nite
