Nap time

They nap. I drink coffee to have a chat with my Boss up there. House chores?
Loads of it, but not in a mood to do now.

mind your body

jem & i had a full body checkup end of last month (january)...result was out... our cholesterol level are BORDERLINE HIGH when i got that result, feeling as though someone knocked at my head real hard!!!

*knock knock knock* watch your diet, connie!!!

yeah...that health report hits me real hard...coz mine is higher than jem. ah po mentioned that at the rate i'm eating meat, she has no doubt my cholesterol is high :P...i didn't expect that...coz i have always thought O blood group people can burn high protein diet pretty efficiently. or...is there any other factors that contribute to this result??!!

so....ever since then, it has been quite.....rather...miserable life for a live-to-eat-person like me. i used to just buy whatever i want to eat whenever i go out, but now i have to think thrice before i lay my hand on that food. or even i decided to buy, i have this guilt feeling behind me...

when doc said, "you should cut down eating dairy products, cakes, chocolate, eggs, fried food...etc", i heard someone said "YESSSSSSSSS!!!"....that person is very happy coz he knows i'll have to cut down my experiments in baking cake, cupcakes and muffin :P. uhm...come to think of it...i was trying to figure out what i ate before the checkup... i found out...it has to be IT, i believe that food contributed some if not most of my cholesterol level.....it's none other than my favourite brownie... erh hem...i better tell you this, i had 9 brownies for the past 2 weeks before the checkup...and it's from chocolat & spice stall. i bought 4 in the 1st week and 5 the second week...a brownie a day. crazy right, i know, i really love it.

jem takes it seriously...really change his diet. he doesn't eat oats, but he does now...every morning for breakfast. bread? we've switched to complex carbohydrates, those bread that comes with wholemeal, wholegrain, anything that make the bread look like a lot of 'liao', we eat. rice? will slowly switch to brown rice and basmati rice. exercise?

as for me, i go market and buy a lot of vegetables nowadays....i eat a lot, so whenever my boys can't finish their food, esp when i cook noodle soup, i'll dump a big bunch of whatever vegetable in that soup, whether it 'goes' with that soup, really doesn't matter to me, but certainly it doesn't look appetising. i know for sure jem would rather skip that meal than to eat it :p i'm still thinking of brownie...*sigh*... gotta stop now, jonathan is up and fighting to use the comp with me.

i hate milk powder. yioks!!! the only drink i dread the most during confinement was this....whenever my confinement make the drink, i gave her a disgusted look then closed my eyes and hold my breath and drank as fast as i could...

but i started drinking it recently...not often but i try my very best to drink at least once every 2 days. to maintain my calcium level? something like that...
2 persons tell me the same thing once a while...i don't like to hear this, i hate it whenever they mention this, feel very 絕情, but i guess it's a fact of life. ppl can help one day but not for long term.

my mom - she said 'you better take care of yourself, when you fall sick, nobody will pity and help you, all they can do is ask 'are you alright', and the rest is 自己攪掂。

jem - if you don't take care of yourself, nobody will.

i'm taking little steps, all these while i simply bochup, i know i eat very well, but there're many factors in daily life that may deteriorate my health even if i eat well. lack of rest, for instance?

i started to drink anmum, milk powder for lactating mothers. it doesn't taste that bad...(think is the same milk powder during confinement) but it irks me. if fresh milk, i'll make sure it's very cold and add cereals.

i try to exercise....do a lot of walking? uhmmm....i don't know how...my boys love to go to the playground after their naps. i try to get them walk along the canal...ian will cycle, nathan will bring his scooter along...not a very smooth walk or exercise...coz i have to stop all the time to make sure nathan is doing alright, he's an accident prone boy. i wish he can sit contentedly on the pram and let me push and walk in peace, he doesn't.

i try to sleep as soon as i'm done with all the house chores...and cut down the amount of time in surfing net. been sleeping at around 1am recently....and wake up at 6:30am daily.

i fall sick very often recently. the recent one is stomach flu last week...mannnnn....that was awful experience for me...feeling dizzy and nausea the entire morning, i was struggling when i'm trying to wake my boys up...get them out of bed, brush teeth, prepare breakfast, waiting for them to finish, wash up dishes, changed to uniform, everything seems to take forever to take place to me...i couldn't take it and ask ah gong to send them to school instead.

i can neither walk too long nor lie down...whenever i move, everywhere i see seems to be spinning...i felt like vomitting and i vomitted the whole morning...easily at least 8 times. i really thanked God joyce was on leave that day, coz i can't imagine hving to walk to the clinic. jem was still in usa, so we have car!!! she drove me to see doc, help me to take my medicine when i rushed to toilet to puke again, gave me medicine when i can't even lift up my head and hands to take the medicine out. medicine took effect after 1 hour....and when i know i can start scolding my boys, i know.....i'm recovering liao...:P must thank my grand in laws to cook and take care of my boys when i'm not well. and i thanked God i'm not pregnant! jem thought i am ok!!! i got the gp to test for me and it's NEGATIVE!!! one line only!!! one only!!! not two!!! wahhahahahah!!!
