"have you given birth already?"
NOT YET, everybodaiiiiii!!! but i can assure you that you'll receive sms from papa jem when the day comes. baby nathan may want to be national day baby, me no clue. ever since gynae told me "anytime"....i've been thinking more than you do..."is today the day?"...."oh no, it's midnight liao, no waterbag burst please, how about day time?", "ouch, that's very uncomfortable, is this an indication that i'm in labor soon? how soon?" "oh, today is not the day" :)
went shopping in amk hub with mother in law yesterday. bought 2 tops again! haha! very happy!!! looks like the current trend is pregnant looking and retro tops/dress, nice! i like it!
anyway, i couldn't believe this myself. i just pouring out my woes by emailing someone i never met and talk to couple days ago. she's the author of building up moms and think i mentioned her before, she's a mother of 6 with no helper cum homeschooling all her kids herself. yeah....i simply need someone to talk to and understand what i'm going through and will go through. feels great eh!!! i thank God for her.
uhm....thinking of buying things again....what else can i buy? ;)

"jem, can you please carry ian out?"
"jem, please bathe ian"
"jem, i need your help, can you play with ian"
"jem,...etc"
i had my 3rd false alarm yesterday....it's VERY nice to mobilise jem to do almost everything ;P coz i don't feel comfortable when the contraction comes. this time the contraction started at 7 plus in the morning, my mom was pretty excited about it coz she thought she could catch my 'labor day' before she leaves. too badddd, that day is not THE day. my contraction is very irregular, suka suka 3 mins, sometimes 5 mins, 7 mins...10 mins...then it started to die down after 4 hours, so again i knew it's not the time yet.
went for gynae checkup last wednesday, gynae said "baby's head is very very low, you'll be in labor anytime!!!!" yeah, i felt baby's head is low too, and this little fella simply loves to cheat me, 3 false alarms not funny loh! papa jem said nathan is probably waiting for the new car to drive him to hospital. haha. we'll only get our new car this coming wednesday, that would be 1 august. will see how it goes.
had good time with my mom this week. she cooked for us, helped me to carry things, looked after ian and most importantly, we're out of the house almost every day. went ikea, shopping, visiting relative and going out for a walk. i simply love to go out, just can't imagine having to stay at home for one full month when nathan comes.
don't know how you would feel if you hear this repeatedly over the months. i know i'll be handling 2 boys. no longer the days when i have only one baby, can rest when baby rest. i may not be able to rest even when baby rest now, i have the older one to handle. my in laws and my parents worried that i can't handle. kept suggesting having maid at home. *sigh* i wish i can find a mother who single-handedly take care of more than one child without any help and give me some encouragement, so that i can assure those who concern. unfortunately, i found none to talk to and this is my first time too. sometimes i just CAN'T understand, if working parents left their children to their maid to take care, who not only need to look after kids, but also have to do all the house chores cum cooking...why can't they think mothers can do it too???!!! oh well, all meant well right? don't want to tire me out.
Dear God, please give me strength. In Jesus name. Amen.

false alarm
though the contraction is consistent, somehow i knew it's not 'the day' yet...am only in my 36 weeks...although there are babies born in week 36 and all organs are fully developed, still feel quite early for me. maybe the contraction doesn't get intense and lasted pretty short (uhmm...less than a minute i think) each time. i forced myself to sleep in the end when i feel the contractions get milder (yeah, force myself to sleep for 4 good hours).
it's a new experience for me though....don't have that when i carried ian. so was a bit worried that night, woke jem up at 2 am and he prayed for me, then he went back to sleep, but my dear hubby still wake up once a while to ask me, that helps a lot...anyway, there's nothing he can do with this contraction too. called the clinic the next morning and was adviced to either monitor myself or go into the labor room and put on ecg. i chose the 1st option of course, go there means kena charge for nothing...anyway, i got my false alarm experience in my 1st pregnancy, had blood show and 1-2cm dilated but not in labor yet....stayed in labor room whole night and paid quite a big sum for false alarm....ian only was born 2 weeks after that incident. so decided to wait this time :P
our coe bid is successful :D...which means we could get our new car soon. jem has been very excited about it, been asking many people the shortest/cheapest way to get to work place. i'm excited too :D
had fun playing bubbles with ian in the bathroom this morning. ian still doesn't know how to 'blow'...so when he attempted to blow, he used his nose to blow instead, really crack me out. oh my dear son has been trying to be 'helpful' too, refuse to let me do the cleaning. he wanted to wash his own dish, clean his own face, mopping and sweeping the floor, doing laundry...etc. i'm happy to let him do it, just that it needs a lot of my muscle strength. he's still short mah!!! need to carry him. and now i feel a bit breathless when i carry him liao...love this little boy a lot!!!

new car

can't believe it. we've just bought a car today. jem has been asking me which car i like...haha, as i mentioned in my last entry, all of us (the entire liang household) like the mazda. there's no doubt of all cars i sat in, i would give mazda a thumbs up (comparing with toyota vios, nissa latio, mitsubishi lanzer, of course mazda the best)...however, we heard quite a lot of negative comments on the fuel consumption. so when jem announced that he decided on mazda couple days ago, am quite surprised.
decided a black mazda 3 sp. prefer white though...heard both black and white color are high maintenance color but white has higher maintenance (i feel) so have to forgo. there are a lot of nice accessories to zng this car, anyway just look at jem and myself, simply won't do it. uhm...i might be wrong, jem surfs the net and searches for some accessories sometimes...joyce said "kor, you're really 'beng' inside!!!" think jem just surfs for fun huh! new car mah!...to zng a car needs a lot of money, might as well give me that money to buy char kuey teow!!! saw quite a few znged mazda cars, some quite nice and some really 'beng'. went on test drive again before we signed our slave life to this new car :P....jem made a few chiongster kind of turns...still feel nice and steady.
hope there's more outing after getting the car. can bring ian to airport to see planes, yay! it will be a challenge for jem coz he's a homely man. nevermind, jem can sit back and i will drive! (eh...like real, as though i know singapore very well, maybe eat wind more than reaching the destination)
can't believe owning a car...in singapore.

car hunting
jem decided to get a car because of his new job...and maybe because 2nd baby is coming, better to own one. in the past, i've always against to have a car...simply because ....jem is the only one working, and very taxing to own one in singapore! still think it's cheaper to take public transport.
i don't know how long it takes for you to reach your workplace everyday...jem's new workplace definitely takes him longer than before...so there we go...been hunting around.
actually we...sort of not in a hurry to buy. jem would want to do his homework before deciding which car....been asking around, reading car forums and check on the car websites everyday. my parent in laws were in fact got more excited than us...kept on suggesting to go the car showrooms. we were laughing at them, coz it's as though they're the one who get the new car instead of us. but i really don't mind going out to look around...treat it as fun family outing! ian got very excited when he sees the balloons in the showrooms and wanting to drive. i left ian completely under my parent in laws' care, while jem and i are focusing on finding out more info about the car.
jem had test drive:
- nissan latio
- mitsubishi lanser
- toyota vios
- mazda 3
mazda 3 stands out, but of course not cheap at all and heard that fuel consumption is high. will continue to test drive other models in weekends to come! exciting!
and you know what? i used to wonder why some people bought an expensive car that's beyond their means...simply get a 'what you need' car and live with it lah!!!
well, now i can understand why...i may not be right...but that's what i feel right now.
jem and i are torn between getting a 'what we really need' and 'what we want' car. in the past, owning a car is a 'no no' coz we can't afford. now that we 'sort of' can afford, why not get something we like? something as a reward i supposed?? but of course, don't buy something that's beyond our means.
jem has his man kind of dream car, goft gti, mini cooper, mx5
whereas mine is the cute cute kind...volkwagen beetle, toyota ist, mini cooper..
but all these so called 'dream cars' are definitely way exceeded our budget and some are 2 seaters....don't tell me putting an extra trailer behind for the 2 boys right??
so we look for cars that can cater for family needs and also what we like...not easy you know...almost those we like are quite ex! then hoping for coe to drop some more...
will update more...about our car hunting adventures...oh i love family outing!!! so long as i'm out of the house!!!
i know i mentioned before, but this time i'm going to talk again. as i'm in my last trimester, though i still have a few weeks to go (urh...not many left), but each time when i feel the pressure from the bottom, i thought 'huh? is today THE DAY?' coz the pressure is really strong at times. and i remembered when i carried ian in my womb, the only times i felt the pressure is 2-3 days before he was born. and now, with nathan, i felt it everyday....and the contractions too...my goodness, it's like having rehearsal everyday.
my gynae said, the womb tend to be lower after the first pregnancy, so the pressure is more obvious. i pray God that when the day is coming, it won't disrupt so much of ian's routine.
what else is different from my first pregnancy?
- i have frequent urination....not even full bladder, i felt the urge to go toilet in very short period of time.
- stomach tightening felt mostly in every evening and night.
- lots of activities inside, boyyy, this little one is active!
- pelvic pain, very painful sometimes...(yeah, carry ian a lot, and do a lot of 'ge kiang' things at home)
- can't sleep well at night, simply can't find comfortable position to sleep
- my skin is more sensitive, especially on my fingers. can't really touch detergent directly.
should thank God for these symptoms....at least i know my boy is doing well inside and i'm going to give him some payback time when he's born!
so how's little ian doing? he knows who is 'nathan'. always point at my stomach when i ask him 'ian, where's nathan? or di di or sai lou'. he's very cute, always rest his head and kiss my rounded tummy...most of the time, that's how he fall asleep too. he likes round and firm 'cushion'. i gotta be careful with my words too...there was a time i told ian 'ian, nathan is kicking', what i mean is nathan is moving and he's responding because ian is touching my tummy. and guess what he did???!!! immediately, he raised both his feets and about to kick my stomach! dangerous huh! but ian has been very sweet, it's nice to see him hugging my big stomach sometimes.
can you believe it? i have 3 babies to take care. 1 big and 2 small.

decluttering

canon ixus 850is
you know what i like to do nowadays? looking for things to throw or give away. everyday look at the same spots, hoping to give myself (and of course jem) the valid reasons to throw.
i spent 3 good days decluttering my bishan and sengkang rooms 2 months ago. clothes, books, notes, bags...etc. and now i'm still looking...! speaking of my clothes...very depressing! i can no longer wear some of them ever since i had ian, and the fact that i'm breastfeeding my boy, i always prefer to wear big big and stretchable shirts (easy and comfy). would love to wear those tight fitting or just nice fitting clothes but feel suffocating whenever i'm wearing it. worst still, if i were to wear them, it's as though my tops is going to torn apart and my jelly tummy will be even more obvious.
sometimes jem said i'm very wasteful...coz i gave away A LOT of my clothes...and actually i still can wear them. but i told him, yes i still can wear but feeling tighter. then i told myself, any clothes that has not been wore for the past 6 months ...it's time to say bye bye...coz i were to say i will wear them one day! that one day will never come! hehe, if old don't go, how to have new stock eh!!!
so i bought myself a new camera! canon ixus 850is! and am going to think what else to buy, to create needs! what else?? what else??!
the labor day is nigh! and i gotta confess, till date, i'm still not so ready. haven't prepared baby room, haven't think through what to do and how to handle two boys single-handedly. papa jem just changed new job, can't take long leave. uhmm....life is full of challenges!!! thank God.
ok...time to sleep

one of our relatives (aunty queenie) led her to sinner's prayer. she will be attending chinese service with aunty queenie on saturday too. praise God yeah!
was telling jem, feeling as though we got spiritual attacks....one after another. we were in a very helpless stage, worry about ah gong ah po, but jem commit them all to God.
anyway, if i were to update this entry during that period, it's probably even longer, detailed and emotional. joyce (jem's sister) actually updated that in her blog, from 20 june, so i won't go into it.

(SAHM - stay at home mom)
i.e. for not spending enough time with our child/children
yeah yeah, stay at home mom, have ENTIRE day with them, still feel this way, weird right? yap! we do. we felt we don't spend enough quality time with our kids. just met up with another mom today, she told me the same thing too, feeling guilty. i wondered why, coz half of her living room is filled with toys, cds, songs!!! so much better than mine!!! ian has very little toys....thanks to his mom, doesn't know what to buy for him. i asked her why...she said
feeling guilty of spending too much time in the kitchen :P cooking and cleaning up (uhmm...sounds very familiar to me)
i have a gate...oh barrier?? to block ian from walking into the kitchen. he would wail, lie on the floor, sometimes lick the floor, give me that very 'cham' look just to get my attention. sometimes i have to ignore him, other times i ended up carrying him, preparing, and washing the dirty utensils at the same time (that's where my strong arms come from). it's the ignoring part which i feel guilty about...coz i feel i spend a lot of time walking in and out of the kitchen. i would wash the utensils immediately after using it. poor ian, always cry whenever i stepped into the kitchen.
feeling guilty of not able to give lots of interesting activities for my boy. am not a very creative mom, life is pretty much the same everyday. what's more, i'm pregnant, all my activities are limited. so i borrowed some toddler game books from the library, to find any activity that doesn't need me to worry about his safety, simply sit still and play (think it's a torture for boys, they simply built-in to move their entire body....actively)
anyway, the new activities for ian this week is the 'magic mud', mixing cornflour and water, it simply melt whenever we attempt to form any shape. ian spends quite some time playing with it, messing up his tray, himself and of course...the floor! messy but quite easy to clean as compared to plain flour (but still need time to clean loh!!!). then using raw rolled oats and raisins, just to let ian do the pouring game (and also all ended up on the floor in the end). these are the things that i do to keep him occupied while i'm busy in the kitchen. then i'll get him clean the floor together with me....
yes, i make my son to do house works too...he loves to bring dirty clothes to the washing machine, and take the clean ones out and hang them, wipe, mop and vacumn the floor, throw dirty things into the rubbish bin or plastic bag. some of these actually make the house even messier or take longer to finish but i still let him do it. this is one of his so-called activities.
my next question is...any game will get bored one day, any other interesting game for him???
maybe because of that we SAHM feel guilty of it, we don't let other people to take care, to think that we can do better job and better to have our children to grow up with one of the parents...and i expect a lot from myself. i want to make sure every second and minutes are fully utilized and meaningful, which i can't and i'm still trying.
