jonathan is 19 days old now...time flies yeah.

you know, before the delivery day, i have been watching home & health channel...i like to watch people give birth to babies, stories of family with many kids, e.g. jon & kate plus 8, the duggars family (17 kids & still counting), multiple births and how they cope with it.

now that jonathan is born, and as i watch this channel, i can't help to thank God for answering my prayer....for giving me a supernatural childbirth experience. anything to glorify Him, must share must share!!!

i got to know about this supernatural childbirth book thru joyce (jem's sister)...to cut long story short, my first 2 births is not without pain but definitely a quick one. so when i was pregnant with jonathan, i told God this would be my last pregnancy and i really want to experience how is it like to deliver baby without pain...

that book came with many testimonies and it's inspiring. i mean, who wouldn't want to give birth to baby without pain. till now, though i knew the existence of supernatural childbirth in my previous 2 births, and i believe in His promises, i have no clue what went wrong with my previous 2 birth experiences...i did have pain mins before giving birth, 1st birth was the worst :P

this time i really read and tried to understand, to really try to believe and to trust His words.... and this time, i didn't tell people what i read, and what i hope for this birth experience...coz it's enough to cope with my own doubts...and having to tell the whole world "yoh hoh, God is going to give me a painless delivery" is ....uhmm...how to say...what if i don't have that in the end???

so this entry is to thank Him...for giving me that experience and of course to answer other of my concerns...let me tell you what is it...

1) to give birth in perfect timing
jonathan was born on thursday (14 may) at noon. that was close to weekend...though that timing may not be perfect for jem...as he was conducting important training half way :P, for me is perfect...coz when i finally got discharged from hospital on saturday, the whole family was around to help out. it's a good start to figure out how to take care of newborn without confinement lady's help.

2) baby's weight.
did i mention i wanted a 2.4kg range baby??? ian and nathan were 2.4++kg babies...so this time i hope for that too. while i hope for a full term baby...God said "since you asked for 2.4kg range...then cannot wait till 40th week liao! now is the time!" jonathan was born in 36th week, 2.645kg at birth

3) fast and smooth delivery
jem sent me to hospital in my previous 2 births...so i'm not sure about no.3. so i prayed whether jem is around to send me to hospital, i/we would get to hospital in time, enough time for the nurse to check and get ready...i wouldn't want to give birth in taxi or at home! can you imagine your boy birth cert birth place called "in taxi, number plate xxxx"!!!

4) gynae would know my desire not to have episiotomy
i had episiotomy in my previous 2. i didn't tell gynae in my routine checkup that i hope not to have this time...no chance anyway, he was on holiday in my last checkup...so i told God...i don't want to have that. on that day, when he first enter the labor room, getting ready, he said "let's try not to cut this time". woh hoh! praise God.

5) a room that's far far away from nursery
oh! this i gotta share. when i have ian, my room was in level 6, his nursery was in level 5 i think (i know i'm one level above)...so it was quiet and quite a good rest. then when i have nathan, my room was quite near to the nursery....man!!! i don't have rest at all okie...the room wasn't sound proof...so i can hear baby cries especially at night...and you know, all baby cries sounded the same....and i always thought nathan was crying...and kept wondering how come nobody was attending to him, to calm him down...ngiao!!! these nurses really immune to all baby cries, but i wasn't!!! the whole night, keep thinking about him...and i even walked out of my room, asking baby to room in with me at 2am!!! then that's it, my dear nathan cry every half an hour throughout till 6am...i dropped dead already!
so this time, i told God i want to have a good rest! and i'm thankful that i did have good rest this time! though same level with the nursery, i'm too far to hear all the cry...EXCEPT when the nursery door is opened, then i'll hear babies crying for a while before the door is closed again.

6) not to think/worry too much about my boys...
not that i don't miss ian and nathan...when i gave birth to nathan, that was the 1st time i separate from ian, we were inseparable those days......i cried and missed him tremendously throughout my hospital stay. but this time...i have jonathan...i don't want to worry about both korkor too much, not worry how they would nap/sleep without me...what if they cry to look for me. i simply not thinking about it...i let jem do the job. i simply enjoy my hospital food and my time alone....you know...this kind of 2 days break...is hard to come by (^^) really shiok ge do do!!!

anyway!!! having experienced this wonderful childbirth experience...please don't ask me to have number 4 okie....and honestly...having to announce to everybody that i closed factory permanently makes me feel a little 不捨得, after all, the desire to have kids been lasted for 5 years (2004-2009)...so it needs time to fade away. my mom in law kept asking me to remember to do the 'Intra Uterine Device (IUD) to prevent pregnancy. 3 boys....enough already lah! 2 boys already made me a tigress, 3 boys...dinosaur, if more....i'll be a monster already.

good nite!

i'm back to working night shifts...1st night back from hospital, jonathan pooed 3 times, woke up every hour the entire night...am glad the other 3 boys (2 kor kors + father) still sleeping soundly...so my conclusion is...it's possible to have 2 kor kors + 1 baby + 2 adults sleep in the same room...any of them wake up WILL NOT affect each other EXCEPT me...i really wish i'm just one of them.

it's tiring...but i wonder how come it doesn't affect my bottomless pit appetite like other people do. you know, a lot of people lose appetite due to lack of rest and bk to their previous weight or even lesser in shorter period of time. this is not possible for me!!!

1-2 months before i gave birth, the amount of food i ate actually cut down quite a fair bit....not that i don't have appetite, but because my tummy was tight and bloated. i was hoping by eating lesser, my tummy can
adjust to smaller size when baby is out next time. unfortunately, it didn't happen. i ate my first meal after delivered, i don't feel full at all...it's quite a big meal you know!!! it's not fun having to make conscious effort to stop eating. makes my life so miserable all the sudden :P

anyway, ever since i'm discharged, life has been busy...for poor jem

21-22 may (thur & fri) - shifting all the home stuff to temporary storage place and in laws' place

24 may (sun) - buyers came to view our vacant sengkang home before 2nd hdb appt (it's required by hdb)

25 may (mon) - we have 2 appts:-
1) 2nd hdb appt - officially handle over our house keys to new owners....bye bye home...
2) 1st hdb appt - submitting all necessary documents for our bishan home, will collect bishan home keys towards end of july...another 2 months!

went to see my sengkang home for the last time last sunday...i actually shed some tears...looking at all the empty rooms, it used to be filled with toys and mess...! all the sweet memories of my boys running around the house, playing in their rooms, the place where we watched tv together, the windows which my boys always asked me to carry them to look out for their favourite lrt train...and all the construction vehicles kept playing in my mind.

it's our first home after all...to me...it has lots of sweet memories in it.

some people msged me how am i coping with 2 kids + 1 baby.
my answer to you is...
i eat and eat! for energy.

many times when i wanted to rest, nathan would always come, either to disturb jonathan to make me get up or smack my face to make me open up my eyes...so i don't expect to have rest.

it's good to be at in laws' place at times...lots of food and fruits!

birth story for baby #3

the title is obvious yeah!

yap! i gave birth to baby jonathan on 14 may 2009...in his 36th week!
here's the birth story, all glory to God!

13 may
afternoon - called up clinic, told the nurse about the pain on my pelvic area whenever want to pass motion. so instead of seeing gynae next week, mine rescheduled to tomorrow @ 1.30pm

evening - casually asked ah po about her birth experiences, she said when she's about to give birth to my father in law, it feels like want to 'bang sai'.

9pm ++ - started to have light contraction. i didn't really timed the contraction, activities are as per normal, it's bedtime for the boys, so busy with all the bedtime routine stuff...feel better when sitting down, contraction stopped...i think.

11pm - both boys finally slept...came out to use computer, i casually jot down the contraction timing....6 mins interval....for half an hour. told jem i better rest, hopefully this is just a false alarm.

throughout the night - woke up countless times + went to toilet at least 3 times...(normally at most one time only), then whenever i feel the contraction, it feels like i want to poo poo...but obviously don't have. oh!!!?? could it be....no no no...i'm still in my 36th week...too soon...continue to sleep, hope contraction stops.

14 may
~ 8am - woke up before the boys because want to pass urine again...feel the contraction again...quite strong till i need to sit down whenever it comes. start timing, average 5-6 mins interval, each contraction last average 35s, some longer.

9am ++ - normally i bath the boys at 10ish, but this time earlier...i feel i should go to hospital soon. uhmm....maybe i should tahan till my 130pm gynae appt...??? oh...better not, what if too late? pop in the taxi or home...how??!!! then because i knew it's about 5-6 mins before next contraction, i quickly bathed each boy during the interval...

10am++ - feel contraction is getting stronger, start to pack my maternity bag just in case it's the day...though i hope not...it's only 36th week.
was thinking to send ian to school at 1130am then head to hospital...contraction is getting stronger...ah po said better go to hospital, she and ah gong will bring ian to school.

when i got out of the house, contraction came again, i have to sit on the stairs for a while, call a cab at the same time...then walk as fast as i can then sit and wait for taxi to come. till then, jem still doesn't know what's happening to me...was hesitated to let him know coz he was in tuas conducting an important training. the last thing i want to do is to interrupt him, then worst still, to find out is a false labor later. so i msg him, just to tell him i'm going to hospital early.

10.59am - my brother called while i'm on my way, chatted and told him about this possible labor, good to have someone called during that time, distract me a bit....if this is the labor, i hope my gynae could give me a jab to stop contraction till full term.

11am onwards - nurse brought me to 2nd floor...to labor ward. to get changed, then i saw slight red discharge. orh ohhhh!!! i think this might be the day... then lied down, nurse put on that....don't know what machine to measure/track contractions. wah....look quite strong...nurse checked my cervix....then she said, "wah, not bad huh you"...

"huh?? what not bad?? have i dilated? how many cm?"
the nurse said something but i couldn't hear properly...thought i heard "1cm"
then feel a bit sian, contraction so strong whole morning, only 1cm dilated!!!!
started msging friends, to pass time...

the next moment, the nurse kept coming bk to ask me "you want gas?"
"gas?? urhh...i'm ok..no thank you.."...didn't tell her i have no pain, just discomfort only. and....based on my 1st birth experience...gas doesn't help!!!

after a while, 2-3 nurses came and about to wheel me out..
i asked "where are we going?"
nurse: "labor room"
me: "huh???? why? i'm in labor?!"
nurse: "yeah, you're already 8cm dilated"
me: what???!!!!! 8cm???

quickly msg jem, this is for real!...he's still in tuas!!! conducting training! i told God, please, wait for jem to arrive then let the baby out.

during that waiting time, nurses kept coming in the room to ask me if i need gas...i was still fine...and of course, when i found out i'm 8cm dilated and no pain, i started to know God is at work here....when nobody is around, i kept talking to God and think of His promises....hope no cam in the room, else people might see i'm talking to myself...

nurse checked...still 8cm dilated.

12:30pm - jem arrived...i really thanked God, coz it was then my cervix started to dilate further...the next few contractions get stronger...asked nurse to check my cervix...9cm dilation. then the nurses told jem "your wife has been very quiet, she's very good" (the labor room next to me, a woman was crying very loud due to labor pain). jem called and msg some family members about the labor.

then i started to have the urge to push...the contraction is so strong that i started to feel a little pain but very bearable unlike my previous 2 labors and in fact, i think it's more of...great discomfort...to the point when if someone is going to tell jokes to me, i'm going to punch that person to shut up!!! leave me alone to concentrate!!!. i told the nurse, pls check my cervix again and i'm going to want to push in the next 2-3 contractions. she checked, called gynae....all i have to do is wait for him to come! but my waterbag was not burst yet. i prayed for waterbag to burst, but it didn't happen.

so gynae finally came, can see 3-4 nurses getting ready this and that...i'm just so happy to see my gynae...don't need to wait anymore. then....ok...this is a bit....urhh....if you read, some of you will feel a bit 'weak' here...i prayed that my gynae will not 'cut' down there...normally to make the size bigger, easier for baby to come out. this time, he said "ok, let's try not to cut this time, hopefully no tear, since you're only 36th week, baby is still small :)". i was so so so happy to hear that!!!!

he burst my waterbag (i think...but i can't recall this) the hard work started.. 1st contraction pushing already no breathe and 'bo lat' already, when the contraction is gone, the nurse beside me, sounded very excited, kept asking me to push...very tired. 4 contractions to push the baby out, very happy, jonathan is out finally.

time of birth: 12:58pm
birth weight: 2.645kg, heavier than his 2 kor kors...who was at the 2.4kg range.
length: 47cm
head circumference: 32cm

here's jonathan :)

went to see gynae last week, just a routine checkup. my gynae was off for holidays so i opt for a female gynae as replacement...which is good coz she has morning slot (my gynae only have afternoon slots)!!! she took an estimated weight for jonathan...about 2.4kg now...that's....that's the weight when both my boys were born...my 3rd one still have another 1 month to grow somemore.....arghhhh!!!! i actually hope that my 3rd one will also be around that 2.4kg range...small, fast and easy mah!!! haha!

but being small also can be quite troublesome, i remembered the nurses gotta use scotch tape to tighten nathan's mitten...coz his hands were too small to even fit the smallest mitten, always come out :)...let God decide his weight then.

one more month to go...i don't know how to get ready for his arrival this time...coz no confinement lady, no confinement food (*sob sob* i kind of miss my confinement ladies food), really don't know what to expect. though i'm mother of 3 soon, most people would think i should be quite experienced by now...i totally disagree...each baby is different...and now we have 2 older bros who make a lot of noise and even before they sleep, i wonder how baby can adapt to the ever so noisy environment. bulk of newborn stuff are in sengkang...and we'll move them here to in laws' home in the next 2 weeks...

pray for me okie. i've been experiencing pelvic pain...on my left side, especially when i want to pass motion...sorry sorry, i know i'm being gross here...but you don't know how painful and fearful i am whenever i have the urge to do big business. that pain really affect my whole left leg, very painful! numb pain??? don't know what pain is that! all i can say is there's always a point when it's so painful that i wanted to cry, sit, stand, squart also cannot. to the point when i would rather give up the big business mission....uhmmm yeah....i don't know how much 'waste' is in my body now...maybe i should get diarrhea kind of medicine...hope the 'flow' is easier :P but what i worried about is...i hope this kind of pain won't happen when i'm in labor! i'll cry man!!!

then just now, i saw a little bit of brownish tint discharge...don't know what it means...check out internet...some women has the discharge, have labor the next 2 days, weeks or months...or till full term...each woman is different. i try not to be alarmed first....will continue to monitor...if i call clinic now, they sure ask me to go clinic to check...i still have one-month away, pls pls pls....jonathan, be patient okie!

5 may 2009...was ah bo's 1 year anniversary in heaven. time flies....when i looked at ian, that reminds me of that night when he called 'bo 婆' out of the blue while jem was bathing him. that's around the time when ah bo just passed away.

yesterday, ah po just showed me some photos of them bringing jeremy to genting highland when jem was about 7 years old. there's ah bo's photos there...i mentioned everybody's else in the photos except ah bo...scared ah po cry again.

when i talk to jem or joyce about ah bo...all we said is..."one year already...so fast, time flies huh" then we talked about other things. nothing much to talk about her coz we all know she's with Jesus...a better place and nothing to grief about it.

but we all know...deep down in our heart, we're simply miss her a lot a lot. wish she's around to welcome the birth of jonathan...and how much her favourite ian and nathan have grown.

okie dokies...enough said...we'll see her again...

uhmm...what's there to update now...

1...both boys almost made me vomit blood last week...nathan refused to nap at his usual time...then by the time ian came bk from school and i try to make them sleep...i have to wait extra longer time for them to nap finally...both kept stir each other up...and kept playing...i felt as though i wasted 3 hours or more in total just to wait for the boys to sleep.

2. decided not to cater confinement food liao. the day when the trial food came, i asked my grand in laws to try out....ah po gave me this "my cooking is much better than this $30 confinement food" look...hahah...no lah! but i must say ah po's cooking is definitely much better than theirs. though i don't mind continue to cater, coz i don't want to trouble ah po during my confinement period..my in laws all agreed that i shouldn't cater. $30 can feed entire family of 7 adults + 2 kiddos...you know. while i'm grateful for their offer to cook, i just hope i don't tax ah po's too much energy in preparing food :(.

3. one more month...i have one month left of freedom....before going to 'jail' for next 3 months. i want to go out more often now!!! after 3 months, hopefully all the resale transaction will be completed, then i can go out to see tiles, lightings, toilet accessories, oven, hob and hood for our new home....yay!!!!! freedom!!!! exciting days ahead!

4. for the wedding band...i should give my jem some credit...though we didn't go to jewellery shop together...he did go to the shop himself, asked if that kind of design still available or can be custom made...think the shop don't even custom made that design at all....anyway, it's a history now! my ring is back, wooohohh!!! i wore for 2 days, finger started feeling itchy again, thanks to that 死牽爛打 eczema!!! have to give my finger a break :(.

5. when our buying transaction (new home) is successful, will show you the floorplan and the original home pictures okie....i bought the floorplan from hdb for $5 online...so happy now, can use it to plan the layout of our home. i spent most of my time thinking abt my dream kitchen...drawing, thinking until i feel sleepy everyday. jem worries about having white solid surface & cabinets due to the maintenance...i've been thinking of any alternative colors...but so far, still white color is my preferred choice...see how...

bye!

Friday, May 01, 2009

today is labor day...also marked abt 1 year anniversary of losing my wedding band :(. during this one year, i always ask jem to bring me to buy a wedding band...and after one year...we still haven't stepped into the jewellery shop...

finally today....i got my wedding band on my finger :D yay!!!
i'm overjoy!!!! thank You Jesus!!! thank You thank You Jesus!!!

Photobucket

look at this wedding band, simple nice yah!!! i like it simple.

that's my old wedding band. i found it in my sengkang home!!!! can't believe it!!!

we went back to pack...want to move some stuff to in laws' place and some to temporary storage place....mann...that's hell of a lot of things to pack...jem kept suaning me, saying i'm becoming more like his mom..kept buying things :P...i thought i'm quite prudent already....the amount of clothes i have all contained in 90cm (L) x 208cm (H) wardrobe...i don't think that's a lot for a woman okie.

anyway, i have 2 cloth organisers in my wardrobe...one big and one small...the smaller one has many compartments...that's where i found my dear ring...in one of the hardly touch compartment. when i saw it, it's....it's...it's....unbelievable! for a moment, i thought it might be jem's...but after a while...looking at the inner ring, the wordings...it's mine!!!

all these while, i thought i lost it in the deep sea of torn envelopes in the plastic bag....when i was filing my mountain pile of bills, documents...etc. really didn't expect i dropped it there...oh...did i tell you that i was wearing my ring 'half' way, coz my finger was feelng itchy those days...? that's why it dropped out....so easily.

can't help to think of this song!!!

i once was lost, but now i'm found

my hubby is the happiest....no more nags from me...and can save some money.
