i wonder are all men are like that...
when i read forums, i see something in common.
scenario 1
daddy: "darling, i'm tired, can you please take care of the kids?"
mommy: "ok"
scenario 2
mommy: "darling, i'm tired, can you please take care of the kids?"
here's the list of things fathers do:
daddy:
- "i'm tired too" (continue to read newspaper)
- "ok" (after playing with baby for 5 mins) "he just poo, please take over" (continue to read newspaper)
- "ok" (after playing with baby for 10 mins MAX, passing back the kids to mommy, go for pee break and never appear again)
scenario 3
mommy: "can you make your baby/kid sleep?"
daddy: "ok" (after 15 mins, baby still very active, but the father dozed off)
in the end,
mommies can only be speechless and continue to look after the kids.
to all the men, no offence okie...haha, i know some of you are not like that, but even if you do, maybe you're doing better out in the field...i feel taking care of baby isn't men (generally) cup of tea. jem has very short attention span with the boys...there are times when i really need him either watch one of the boys or do certain things, he just couldn't. not that he doesn't want, he simply.....can't!!! sometimes when he said he's tired....i was like "yeah, you tired, i'm tired too loh!" or very tempted to tell him all the things i did to the boys the whole day, just to justify i'm MORE than tired him. SAHM (stay at home mom) is ain't easy and is tiring, but it's unfair to say working full time is not tired right???!!! so got to learn compromise. i must admit, many times of course not happy at first lah! you think i'm so easy going huh! very tired still no help, you know...just give me 2 words "i'm tired" and can be excused from doing things really no good feeling. but one thing i learnt from one mother in the forum is to stop weighing who's more tired, no point anyway, so what if can weigh??? everybody ended up not happy. jem always thank me for letting him rest and appreciate all the things i do even when i'm tired. i feel it's important for husbands to show appreciation when they are not able to help. well, at least for me, i feel appreciated and from not happy become half happy...:D. when i got all things done in the end, sitting down watching tv with him, resting, relaxing and eating fruits (sometimes, chips and ice cream ;P)...sometimes get him to massage me a bit, that is it...things back to normal liao. uhmmm!!! i enjoy my relax time with my hubby :D very happy.
as i said, jem can't play long with the boys, but i know he's good at other things which i'm not good at and i appreciate him a lot. he's helping out in cleaning up the house. sweeping, vacumning and mopping the floor, cleaning the toilet, reorganizing the storeroom, kitchen and the boys room. i have friend's husband who doesn't do all the house chore, she's a SAHM too and no helper, but he's good at playing with his boy. As for me, i thank God coz He gave me one who helps out in doing some of the tougher house chores, a bochap and unhygienic me cannot do a better job than him.
