so how's ian kor kor coping since the arrival of his little brother?

very well.

he sayang nathan a lot. kissing his forehead, lips and face throughout the day. i have to stop him and get him to wash his mouth most of the time coz he always kiss with his dirty lips (biscuit crumbs, lunch, fruits...etc). found out one lovely acts he did to nathan last night, he blinked his eyes whenever both of them look at each other eye to eye :D.

i quoted this from the mother of 6 children's website

#1 - Pray! We start to pray almost immediately for good sibling relationship. That the older sibling/s will take well to the baby & the baby will also take to the older sibling/s. God has given this blessing to us as a reward. Surely He will not want the family to be torn apart because of sibing rivalry! So when we pray for sibling closeness & acceptance, we can be sure that we are praying according to His will.

i prayed that God will do likewise to my boy too...that ian will be able to accept his brother. praise God, He answered my prayer.

not only ian is accepting well with his brother's arrival...he's doing very well without having me around too. the first night in hospital was the most heart breaking night for me. it was ian away from me for the first time since his birth. i missed ian so bad that i couldn't sleep and cry almost the whole night. when ian and my in laws came to see me and nathan, i was so happy that he came to hug me. then when they have to leave, seeing ian trying to reach out to me crying, i was heartbroken.

and guess what, just one day...he took just one day to get used without me. the 2nd night when ian came to visit me, he just waved bye bye to me without crying anymore. and guess what, i was stunned. that's the turning point. gone are the days when he would insist me to go with him whenever he goes or cry if i don't go with him.

do i feel sad that he can let go simply so easily? yes.

i honestly feel sad that he doesn't really need me anymore. some of you may say i should be fortunate that my boy is so sensible, adaptable and doesn't give me lots of headaches and heartaches. yeah, i agree with you. am just sharing with you, i'm a selfish mom. and...a selfish mom is learning to let go.
